NextLab is a next generation lab at MIT: an interdisciplinary research, teaching, and deployment effort, designed as a social network and run through a web services platform that enables close collaboration with corporate and academic partners worldwide.

Our objective is to address global challenges through the design of mobile platforms which are then launched as joint MIT-industry innovations, new open source initiatives, or for-profit ventures.

NextLab partners with forward looking companies to address opportunities of innovation in their industries through mobile technologies. We then develop the framework to address these issues more broadly as global challenges for the common good, and deploy them in local markets collaborating with affiliated universities worldwide.
