December 10th, 2008
NextLabbers,
Congratulations on a hugely successful event today. As you well saw, there was great interest from the audience in our projects, all teams presented and demo’ed their ideas and prototypes with great professionalism, and the event ran flawlessly. There were people from all parts of the Institute, and beyond. You should feel as proud of yourselves as we do.
To cap this good day, make sure you all upload your deliverables by midnight in the link indicated previously. We need all these from all teams in order to hand in your grades.
More to come tomorrow on various issues, once you have finalized uploading your deliverables, and filling out the online survey. For the 7 students who have still not had a chance to fill the survey, we ask that you do this asap. Again, this survey is important for the future of NextLab and a courtesy for the students who will come after you.

NextLabbers,
Some tips to reduce last minute rush on diverse items, and some advice:
- Include the names of your Emerson Communications Officers and your Team Advisor(s) in the front page of your presentation, along with the names of your MIT peers
- Also find a space to acknowledge the people that collaborated with you from your Project Partner
- Designate one person in the team to have the last version of your presentation on a USB and to upload it in the Bartos computer no later than 11:00AM tomorrow. Make sure that person tests the video configuration, as there are always cases of last minute configuration problems. We have both Macs and PCs at Bartos
- Do the same for your Posters, your demos, and all other materials you will bring with you.
- Specific spaces within the lower atrium of the Media Lab are on a first come first serve basis. People can choose them as they walk into the building
- I advise you arrive at 10:30AM to ensure you set up all your materials and upload your files.
- We will order pizza specifically for NextLab students and advisors, so that we can leave the box lunches for our guests. Pizza will arrive to the Media Lab between 10:45 and 11:00AM.
- DO NOT forget to pick up all your stuff at the end of the event. We will have from 3:45pm to 4pm to clean up and leave the place ready for the next people.

NextLabbers,
We have enabled a link where you can upload all your deliverables. For those deliverables due December 10th, feel free to upload them any time tomorrow until midnight. (You don’t need to upload them before the event.) For those due at a later date, make sure they are in at the times we’ve specified previously, as we will be tight with time to hand in grades in the next few days.
We’ve done this to avoid you sending files to us through email. Please don’t email us any files, just upload them where indicated.
We’re asking you to upload your poster files too, as they will be a good example for students next term. Please don’t forget to add them along the rest of your deliverables.
Good luck tomorrow!
