It has been an eventful week with several opprotunities to pitch our idea and a lot of useful feedback. We have finished the buisness plan and submitted it to the 100K competition next we have the last opprotunity to show our stuff, on the 7th of May, that evening we will be able to sit down with the judges and pitch our idea in person. Also comming next week are the results for the MIT IDEAS competition on May 4th, wish us luck!
Yesterday Hammock attended an event hosted by Goodwin Proctor. It was a great opportunity to meet the other semi-finalists and discuss our ideas with one another. The lawyers from Goodwin Proctor also shared their invaluable knowledge about taking our company to the next level.
There was an interesting presentation on the 8 great mistakes made by new entrepreneurs. The bottom line: hire a lawyer!
Our SEED competition entry has been submitted, they are due on March 16th so don’t delay if you are planning on submitting!

Yesterday we made it through to the semi-finals of the MIT 100k competition! This has given the team a strong boost as we move forward to producing out prototype and developing the business plan further.
We would love to hear what your think about our idea and how well we have communicated our vision to others. As we try and refine this let us know what you think of our elevator pitch. This is just a first attempt and so will undergo a number of iterations:
Hammock is a for profit social enterprise catering to firms in developing countries by providing mobile-based logistic management solutions unlike current high cost complex services.
Please post your helpful suggestions (like there would be any other type) here.
