MIT 100K buisness plan complete
May 1st, 2009It has been an eventful week with several opprotunities to pitch our idea and a lot of useful feedback. We have finished the buisness plan and submitted it to the 100K competition next we have the last opprotunity to show our stuff, on the 7th of May, that evening we will be able to sit down with the judges and pitch our idea in person. Also comming next week are the results for the MIT IDEAS competition on May 4th, wish us luck!
MIT 100k update: meet the lawyers!
April 24th, 2009Yesterday Hammock attended an event hosted by Goodwin Proctor. It was a great opportunity to meet the other semi-finalists and discuss our ideas with one another. The lawyers from Goodwin Proctor also shared their invaluable knowledge about taking our company to the next level.
There was an interesting presentation on the 8 great mistakes made by new entrepreneurs. The bottom line: hire a lawyer!
SEED competition

MIT Mobile Monday April 6th
March 15th, 2009In another shamless attempt at promoting our idea MLM-Hammock has requested to have a stand at the MIT Mobile Monday showcase. This showcase will allow us to demonstrate our application to Venture Capitalists and other MIT mobile enthusiasts. MIT IDEAS competition
March 13th, 2009MLM-Hammock finalized our IDEAS competition submission today, the deadline to submitt an initial proposal is March 15th 2009. The deadline to submit a final proposal is April 15th 2009, good luck to all of the teams that are competing!
Update on the Dell Social Innovation Competition
March 10th, 2009Unfortunately Hammock did not make it into the semi-finals but we are very happy for the four other teams from the nextlab II class that did make it. Congrats to Dinube, MOCA, CELEDU, and CiviRep great job, now the fun begins, 30 page venture plan by April 6th, ouch!
We made it to the semi-finals of MIT100k!
March 6th, 2009Yesterday we made it through to the semi-finals of the MIT 100k competition! This has given the team a strong boost as we move forward to producing out prototype and developing the business plan further.
We would love to hear what your think about our idea and how well we have communicated our vision to others. As we try and refine this let us know what you think of our elevator pitch. This is just a first attempt and so will undergo a number of iterations:
